Talons' makes an extreme departure on "Pandemia", an electronic album set in a 1990s cacatopia where computers monitor and control a scared and subordinate population. All software synthesizers and vocoder. No real instruments were used.
This EP represents 1/3 of the "Talons' Trilogy", a project executed in 2009/2010 that includes 3 albums that are extremely different in their production. "Dubai" focuses on the cutting-up of acoustic sounds and different approaches to melody/rhythm, "Pandemia" is an electronic album that abandons real instruments entirely and "Songs for Boats" relies almost solely on acoustic instruments and linear-pop-song-writing while also exploring automation within mixing and the idea of "playing tracks" as instruments. The "Talons' Trilogy" was meant to explore separately the techniques that were to be combined on the defining record "Afterpop", which was to be recorded in 2011.
